The Nagoya University Graduate School of Law started admission for 2013 October Entry. Application documents for Rolling Admission are accepted until June 28th, 2013.

Each applicant can only apply once each year, regardless of Early Admission or Rolling Admission.

Admission

We plan to attach importance in the selection process on the following elements:

  1. strong interest and concrete experience in Asia, to put emphasis in Asia to make China, South Korea, South Eastern Asia and Oceania to be wide field of study.
  2. excellent achievement and activities in undergraduate level.
  3. ability to make objective view on mother culture, tradition, or common sense.
  4. ability to make clear explanation with examples, etc. (strong curiosity in explanation).
  5. ability to investigate to specify certain premises to support conclusion.

Since sufficient English proficiency is indispensable for this program, to submit an official score report of TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC is required for all the applicant. (NOTE: :This requirement of an official score report does not apply to 2012 application (and 2012 ONLY).)

Applicants are required to be graduates, or graduates-to-be, from university. This program is open to those who have completed a course of study in law or political science.

Stipend and Supporting Measures

We will introduce the following measures to support students in this program.

Research Stipend

The applicants can apply for the research stipend of JPY 200,000 per month for two years (24 months) in the Master’s Program. Grantees are selected by the merit-based selection procedure. The application for research stipend for the Doctors course will be announced in due course.
# Stipend can be suspended according to studying attitude and achievement.

Students can apply for a tuition waiver for each year under the general rules of Nagoya University.

Support for Internship and Research Overseas

We will provide certain financial support for international internship (mandatory in the Master's Program), and research overseas.

Request for Supervision

Students can request the Graduate School of Law to invite researchers or professionals to visit Nagoya to have lectures or seminars.

Support for Presenting Research Achievement

Students can obtain training to organize small-sized research meetings, or to present her research achievement.

Mentors' Network

Students can gain advice from, or consult with, mentors' network organized worldwide, or mentors belong to Nagoya University Alumni overseas.

Langauge Training

Students can obtain language training to acquire English / Japanese / Asian languages, including tutorship.
